This what I believe to be the first edition, The book was rebound in Red calf leather, gilt frames, decorative gilt overlap, marbled endpapers.This would appear to have been carried out in the 1800's.Frontis is absent as seems common , light water stains.A loose typed note dated 1956, shows that the book was owned sold ? by Thomas Thorp, 27 Albermarle St, London W.1. it identifies the book as Madan.1.
